Summer=Ice cream..

Another Ice cream recipe to add to my collection ( yang baru ada 2 jenis tu )



This time I made Pistachio & Cherry Ice cream..got the recipe from a book I bought dulu..lupe kewujudan buku tu sampai la kelmarin hihihi..tula bila byk sgt brg dalam rumah

Well, the recipe calls for the easiest ingredients; milk, egg yolk, sugar, pistachio nuts and cherries. Here's the complete measurements:

Ingredients:

250ml milk
3 egg yolks
50g sugar
30g crushed pistachio nuts
20g cherries diced

How to make:
1. Heat the milk in a small pot under slow heat for 30seconds. Do not let the milk boil. Remove from stove and let the milk set.
2. Meanwhile in a bowl, mix the egg yolks & sugar and beat until the colour turns from yellowish to a slight cream colour.
3. Add the warm milk to the egg mixture and slowly mix to avoid foam from forming.
4. Pour back the mixture into the pot and heat with medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Stir constantly to avoid lumps. -->> mcm nk buat custard
5. When mixture starts to thicken just a bit, pour back into the bowl and stir under a bowl of ice water. Add the nuts and diced cherries.
6. Pour in your ice cream machine or in a steel canister and freeze until firm. * If you're not using an ice cream machine, remember to stir the mixture halfway through freezing time.

** I used soy milk instead of whole milk **
** I lessen the sugar to 30g sbb tamau manis sgt **
** I used fresh cherries instead of frozen ones..no got kat kedai **

Since I've just uncovered my long lost recipe book on ice creams, you'll be seeing more entries on ice cream/sorbets in the future
