Pila~lauuu Udang ( aduh saket kaki )

 
Pagi tadi record bangun awal setelah lama tak bangun pagi2 giler..slalu tido kol 3++am then bgn kol 9-10am, and pagi tadi tido kol 2am bgn kol 5am! Mesti org pelik, awal giler bgn pagi2 Sabtu nak gi mana?

Haaaa...... nak gi skolah, tuan2 dan puan2 sekalian. Yup, school on a Saturday

I'm taking this subject that requires the classes to be scheduled outside weekdays, itu la gayanye terpaksa gi skolah hari Sabtu

Nways, kelas start at 8:45am sampai kol 4pm..the weather was HOT, as usual. It rained a bit, then benti, and MY GOD! how humid it was siang tadi..rasa cam berjalan2 dalam sauna!! I was sleepy, hungry and tired and by the time balik rumah, teros la masak..( perut bunyik tak hengat ) Made ayam masak kicap my-style ngan nasi. Malas nk masak benda leceh2..

Lepas makan, lepak2 jap tgk tv then naik atas baca buku sket. Nways, today's recipe is actually last night's dinner. I made Spiced Shrimp Pilau / Spiced Shrimp Pilaf --> In which I believe is originated from Turkey ( sumber dr cik Wiki ) This recipe has soooo many versions of it, and I stumbled upon a version of this dish that I thought might suite my taste. So, dah beli udang apa suma..maka mula la operasi testing2. Here's the recipe:


Spiced Shirmp Pilau

Ingredients:

to marinade shirmps
500 g Fresh or frozen medium shrimp in shell; peeled & deveined ( I used fresh ones )
1 ts Grated gingerroot
1 ts Ground coriander ( serbuk ketumbar )
½ ts 5-spice powder ( yg ni I pakai garam masala )
½ ts Paprika
¼ ts Ground cumin ( serbuk jintan manis )
¼ ts Ground turmeric ( serbuk kunyit )

3 tb Margarine or butter
1 tb Cooking oil
¼ c Finely chopped onion
3 Cloves garlic; minced
1 Fresh chili pepper; seeded and chopped ( I used red capsicum )
1 ½ c Long-grain rice
3 ¼ c Chicken broth ( I added kulit udang yg dah kopek tadi into the broth, bg tambah rasa )
3 Green onions; sliced


Bahan-bahan

How to make:
1. In a large bowl combine shrimp, gingerroot, coriander, five-spice powder, paprika, cumin, and turmeric. Cover, let stand at room temperature while preparing rice.
2. In a large saucepan heat margarine or butter and oil till margarine or butter is melted. Add onion, garlic, and chili pepper. Cook till onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
3. Add rice and chicken broth. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes or till rice is nearly done.
4. Stir in shrimp mixture. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Cook, covered, about 5 minutes more or till shrimp turn pink and rice is tender.
5.To serve, spoon onto a serving platter. Garnish with green onions and cilantro, if desired. Makes 4 main dish servings.

I
made a mistake by adding the shrimps masa tgh saute bwg besar and garlic tu and the shrimps mengecut dgn jayanya I guess that's why dia suruh letak shrimp tu ujung2 kot ( Tula..degil! )

This recipe is actually pretty simple eventhough bahan2 dia nampak cam leceh. Trust me, you'll have a wholesome dinner in one dish; tayah buat lauk utk makan ngan nasi sbb lauknye dah ada dlm tu!

Esok ahad..lagi seminggu nak exam.. bila nak masuk gear 5 nak study ni??
